You’ve heard the stories, but nothing prepares you to see what really happens to victims of the dog meat trade.
In South Korea alone, it’s estimated that around 2 million canines are killed each year and more than 100,000 tons of dog meat are consumed. What’s even more disturbing are the practices the industry employs. Because of a misguided belief that adrenaline makes the meat more tender, the dogs are tortured before they’re eventually killed.
Despite the fact that most people in South Korea don’t eat dog meat, the practice continues.
Chi Chi is a victim of the dog meat trade.
She’s a perfectly happy dog now, but when rescuers found her, her future was uncertain.
