Heartbroken Puppy Leaves Food For His Dog Friend Who Died And Twitter Is Sobbing

Anypet owner knows just how heartbreaking and confusing it is to say goodbye to a furry companion, and a now-viral tweet proves the loss is equally confusing for other pets in the family.

On June 11, Twitter user @_EasyBreasy_ shareda photo of his dogs half-eaten kibble with a note that will shatter your heart into pieces. Seriously, Im crying.

The notereads:

So we only have one food for my two labs. And my dog Stitch trained my other dog Cookie to only eat half of the food thats in the bowl. So ever since she was young she knew to leave half of the food so Stitch can have some (he liked to make sure she would eat).

Now Stitch recently passed away. And this is Cookies first time alone. So since Stitch is gone, Ive been feeding Cookie less food. Well before I went to bed, I wanted to check to see if she ate. And she still left half of her food there so Stitch can eat.

My heart I cant handle this.

Cookie doesnt know that Stitch isnt coming back for his half of the food.

Shes so considerate and doesntdeserve this pain.

As you can imagine, Twitter responded to the sad news accordingly and is supportingyoung Cookie with pretty much weepy GIF and meme available on the internet.

There were lotsof tears.

Tons of people expressed empathy.

One commenter was even going through a similar situation

Basically, were all herefor Cookie and her owner during this extremely difficult time.

Its hard to say exactly shell realize her BFF, Stitch, is no longer with us. But right now, I cannot get past her sweet puppy soul refusing to stop saving him some grub.

Rest in peace, Stitch and stay strong, Cookie.

BRB, Im drying my tears.
